Super Micro CEO unveils expansion into federal market

* Super Micro Computer (SMCI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SMCI]) CEO Charles Liang announced on Wednesday that the data center company will be expanding into the federal market.
* Shares rose 3.5% in premarket trading.
* “Supermicro is committed to supporting the U.S. federal government in powering its next generation of technical initiatives,” said Liang in a statement [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20284504-supermicro-announces-u-s-federal-entity-to-expand-further-into-the-federal-market-extensive]. “Through this initiative, Supermicro will supply U.S. federal government agencies with full data center IT solutions that are manufactured and tested from our manufacturing facilities in Silicon Valley, California. With our Data Center Building Block Solutions®, we can completely design and deliver the entire IT stack for a variety of data center requirements.”
* The announcement comes one day after CoreWeave (CRWV [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CRWV]), a competitor to Super Micro, also unveiled [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4509628-coreweave-to-enter-us-federal-market-ceo-says] its intention to enter the federal market.
