The Trump administration has no plans to sell a new generation of an Nvidia artificial-intelligence chip to China after the president and Chinese leader Xi Jinping didn’t discuss the topic at their meeting in South Korea last week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday. “As for the most advanced Blackwell chip, that’s not something we’re interested in selling to China at this time,” Leavitt said. President Trump decided not to bring up the topic at the meeting after top advisers nearly unanimously told him not to because of security concerns and other concessions already being made to China, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
