Nvidia is joining as a strategic advisor, so it's not just about the money. The business will share its knowledge, provide training, and help new businesses use its sophisticated AI and computing capabilities. The alliance already had $1 billion in funding when it started in September. Now Qualcomm Ventures, Kalaari Capital, and InfoEdge Ventures are also joining.
This alliance couldn't have come at a better time for India. The government just started a $12 billion research and development program to help the software industry grow faster than the hardware industry.
Sriram Viswanathan, a founding partner of Celesta Capital and one of the group's first members, remarked, "Now is the best time for India to look at deep tech." Now that Nvidia is involved, entrepreneurs might have the brains and money they need to compete in the global AI market.
