Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 0.04%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Sports sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kuyas Yatirim AS (IS:KUYAS), which rose 10.00% or 5.45 points to trade at 59.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Isiklar Enerji ve Yapi Holding AS (IS:IEYHO) added 6.04% or 0.81 points to end at 14.21 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 5.74% or 0.19 points to 3.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Efor Cay Sanayi Tic As (IS:EFORC), which fell 10.00% or 12.60 points to trade at 113.40 at the close. Destek Finans Faktoring As (IS:DSTKF) declined 10.00% or 66.00 points to end at 594.00 and Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) was down 6.54% or 35.50 points to 507.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 311 to 262 and 17 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 7.60 to $3,406.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.42% or 0.90 to hit $62.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.23% or 0.81 to trade at $65.31 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.13% to 40.75, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 47.81.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 97.53.
