Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.53%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 1.37% or 0.12 points to trade at 8.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) added 0.96% or 2.31 points to end at 242.02 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) was up 0.62% or 2.81 points to 459.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which fell 4.37% or 0.98 points to trade at 21.46 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) declined 3.42% or 19.38 points to end at 547.50 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) was down 3.07% or 0.72 points to 22.75.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 151 to 101 and 11 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.77% or 26.10 to $3,382.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.06% or 1.29 to hit $63.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $66.85 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 18.80, while EUR/MXN rose 0.09% to 21.90.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 98.06.
