Skechers, Tesla, and DoorDash among hedge funds’ new favorite long positions – GS

Goldman Sachs strategists highlighted their “VIP” list of stocks that “matter the most” to hedge funds, as they appear the most among their top 10 holdings.

This list has outperformed the S&P 500 (SP500 [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SP500]) year-to-date at 15% vs. 10.8%, and it has also outperformed the S&P 500 in almost 60% of all quarters since 2001.

“From an implementation standpoint, the Hedge Fund VIP list represents a tool for investors seeking to ‘follow the smart money’ based on 13-F filings,” said Ben Snider, Goldman Sachs senior equity strategist. “By construction, the VIP list identifies the 50 stocks whose performance will largely influence the long side of many fundamentally driven hedge funds.”
