Russia's Gazprom and CNPC sign major gas deal to boost supplies to China - report

* Gazprom (OTCPK:GZPFY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GZPFY]) and China National Petroleum have signed an agreement to increase annual gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline as well as via the Far Eastern Route, Russia's RIA agency reported on Tuesday.

The agreements were signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China, where he is scheduled to attend a military parade in Tiananmen Square on Wednesday.

* _Reuters _reported last month that China was seeking to buy more Russian gas through an existing pipeline as talks between the two countries have failed to make progress on building a second link.
