DoorDash tapped as third-party delivery partner to Yelp

* Yelp (NYSE:YELP [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/YELP]) has tapped DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DASH]) to be its preferred partner for restaurant deliveries, connecting Yelp’s (NYSE:YELP [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/YELP]) high-intent audience with DoorDash’s (NASDAQ:DASH [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DASH]) restaurant inventory.
* The news [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20248992-yelp-names-doordash-its-preferred-partner-to-expand-delivery-access-nationwide]lifted shares of both companies at Tuesday’s open while dragging Uber (UBER [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/UBER]) shares into the red.
* “Millions of people come to Yelp every day to find a restaurant, and we’re thrilled to give them even more choice and convenience when they want to order takeout and delivery,” said Chad Richard, senior vice president of business and corporate development at Yelp.
* The partnership begins on October 1. For restaurants that are not on the DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DASH]) marketplace, Yelp (NYSE:YELP [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/YELP]) will maintain existing delivery partnerships.
