European indexes mixed as investors stay cautious; Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz on the move

Industrial production in Sweden climbed by 10.6% year-on-year in August.

Norway’s annual inflation rate rose to 3.6% in September.

The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 2.3% in September from 2% in the previous month.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] (STOXX) [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] held steady on Friday, capping a quiet week for European stocks as investors remained cautious ahead of the upcoming earnings season.

Market participants also continued to watch the political situation in France, with President Macron expected to announce a new prime minister soon.

Looking into stocks, Stellantis (STLA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STLA]) gained nearly 2% after reporting [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4503213-stellantis-reports-q3-consolidated-shipments-jump-13-percent-y-y-to-1_3m-units]a 13% increase in Q3 deliveries, Mercedes-Benz added 2.2%, and Volkswagen rose 0.9%.

Spot gold, meanwhile, hovered below the $4,000/oz mark on Friday, as traders took a breather following a rally that lifted the safe-haven metal to an all-time high of $4,059 on Wednesday.

IN THE BOND MARKET, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury was down 3 basis points at 4.12%.

Germany's 10-year yield was down 2 basis points at 2.69%.

UK's 10-year yield was down 3 basis points at 4.73%.
