European markets mixed as investors brace corporate earnings

France (CAC:IND [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CAC:IND]) +0.36% to 8,235. France’s business climate indicator rose to 97 in October 2025 from 96 in September. France’s manufacturing business climate indicator rose to 101 in October 2025 from 97 in September.

In other parts of Europe, Norway’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged down to 4.8% in September.

Denmark’s consumer confidence index fell to -19.5 in October 2025 from -18.7 in the previous month.

The consumer confidence indicator in the Netherlands rose to -27 in October 2025 from -32 in September.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] (STOXX) [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] turned 0.16% higher to 573, as strong corporate earnings lifted investor sentiment. BP (BP [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BP]) and Shell (SHEL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SHEL]) were among the best performers amid surging crude prices

Gold prices rose to around $4,120 per ounce on Thursday, halting a two-day decline as investors weighed trade developments and geopolitical tensions.

IN THE BOND MARKET, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury was up 3 basis points to 3.98%.

Germany's 10-year yield was up 2 basis points to 2.58%.

UK's 10-year yield was flat at 4.43%.
