* Berkshire Hathaway's (NYSE:BRK.A [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BRK.A]) (NYSE:BRK.B [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BRK.B]) Warren Buffett said that he's disappointed by news that Kraft Heinz (NASDAQ:KHC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/KHC]) intends to split into two companies.
In an interview with CNBC, Buffett said that he was particularly disappointed that shareholders didn't have an opportunity to vote on the split before it was announced.
"If we are approached about selling our shares, we wouldn't accept the block bid unless the same offer is made to other Kraft Heinz holders," Buffett told CNBC [https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/02/warren-buffett-says-he-is-disappointed-in-kraft-heinz-split.html].
"It certainly didn't turn out to be a brilliant idea to put them together, but I don't think taking them apart will fix it," Buffett added, referring to the Kraft-Heinz merger.
Berkshire Hathway is Kraft Heinz's (NASDAQ:KHC [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/KHC]) largest investor, holding a 27.5% stake.
* President Trump is expected to announce that the U.S. Space Command Center will be moved from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Huntsville, Alabama.
A White House spokesperson confirmed to the Associated Press [https://apnews.com/article/space-command-trump-alabama-colorado-96589ce26df5ddaf59e2fc856084a8ca] that Trump will be making an announcement related to the Department of Defense on Tuesday afternoon.
Reuters noted that Huntsville is already a major hub for defense contractors, including L3Harris (LHX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LHX]) and Lockheed Martin (LMT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LMT]).
* Woodside Energy (NYSE:WDS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WDS]) CEO Meg O’Neill indicated she wasn't very concerned that a new Russia-China gas pipeline would significantly disrupt demand for liquified natural gas in Asia.
“If you looked over the last few years, China has signed up to a number of long-term LNG offtake agreements. With the tariff disputes, there has been less LNG going to China, but China has always had a strategy when it comes to energy that is diversification,” O’Neill told Bloomberg TV [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-02/woodside-energy-ceo-downplays-lng-risk-from-russia-china-pipeline-deal?srnd=homepage-americas&sref=Hh2p8mzs] on Tuesday.
O'Neil added that South Korea and Japan remain key buyers in the region, with India, Pakistan and Bangladesh also becoming increasingly important.
Russia's Gazprom PJSC (OTCPK:GZPFY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GZPFY]) announced Monday that it has signed a binding contract to proceed with plans to build a gas pipeline that would link Siberia and China via Mongolia.
