Long-time money maven Mark Jeftovic has cautioned that when the next financial boom arrives, it could be the "most terrifying bull market ever" — one where rising asset prices disguise a collapse of purchasing power in the U.S. dollar.
Speaking with journalist John Byrne, Jeftovic likened the present-day conditions to hyperinflation in Weimar Germany, Zimbabwe, and Venezuela — dramatic stock index gains of thousands of percent, while the average citizen was actually made poorer.
Why Bitcoin stands out as a hedge
Jeftovic called the upcoming event a "bull crash," in which equities, commodities, and even cryptocurrencies might take off while fiat money turns to dust.
However, he also contended that the U.S. dollar—already down 10% this year—faces a further decline of 50% within three years as the money supply continues to expand.
“If the dollar falls 50%, you need to double your portfolio just to break even," he said. Mr. Schiff said, adding that you'd have to double your portfolio just to break even thereafter.

From Bitcoin's perspective, Jeftovic emphasized that hard assets will be key to protecting wealth. Gold, silver, real estate, and especially Bitcoin — with its fixed supply — provide a store of value that governments are unable to debase.
He also stated that Bitcoin, often referred to as "digital gold," could prove to be a better-performing safe haven than traditional ones if the dollar continues to weaken.
He cited Warren Buffett's move toward energy assets, Ray Dalio's preference for Bitcoin and gold, and Elon Musk's warnings on fiat currency as proof that large investors are already repositioning.

"On paper, we may all be millionaires," Jeftovic said, "but only those holding real, scarce assets like Bitcoin will come out ahead."
Bottom line, while Wall Street prepares for turbulence, Jeftovic and other Bitcoin proponents view the digital currency as a key ingredient for all of us to navigate what could be one of the most extreme bull markets of all time.
