Strategy acquires $217.4M worth of bitcoins in past week

Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MSTR]) said [https://seekingalpha.com/filing/10394317] on Monday that it acquired bitcoins (BTC-USD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BTC-USD]) worth $217.4M during the period September 2 to September 7, down from the prior week [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4491036-strategy-acquires-4048-bitcoins-for-4493m-last-week]'s purchases of $449.3M.

Shares were -2.49% pre-market to $327.51.

Last week, MSTR acquired 1,955 bitcoins at an average purchase price of $111,196. BTC-USD was trading at $111,961.35 on Monday before the opening bell.

The bitcoin purchases were made using proceeds from Strategy's at-the-market offerings.

Strategy sold 104,381 Strategy Inc SER A PFD STK (STRF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STRF]) shares to raise net proceeds of $11.6M and 54,558 Strategy Inc SERIES A PERP PF (STRK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STRK]) shares for $5.2M during the week.

Additionally, the company sold 591,606 shares of common stock for $200.5M.
