Chemicals maker Croda's stock rises as outlook holds steady despite tariff-driven volatility

Croda International (OTCPK:COIHF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/COIHF]) on Thursday said U.S. tariffs have contributed to volatility in quarterly performance, adversely impacting customers’ export sales in certain regions, particularly in pharma and industrial markets in Asia and in agriculture markets in Latin America.

The British specialty chemicals maker expects the "more challenging trading environment and low order book visibility to continue for the remainder of the year," it said in a statement [https://www.croda.com/en-gb/media-hub/news/general/third-quarter-2025-sales-update].

However, despite the expected seasonal Q4 slowdown, strong YTD growth and cost savings keep the 2025 outlook unchanged. The company's shares were up about 3.5% in early trading in London.

Croda International (OTCPK:COIHF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/COIHF]) continues to expect to deliver £265 million to £295 million in group adjusted profit before tax at constant currency.

The company's Q3 sales increased to £424.7M, up 4.4% on a reported basis versus the prior year and up 6.5% in constant currency.

As anticipated, customer demand in Q3 was similar to Q2, with sequential sales ahead in a more challenging market environment.

Sales growth was driven by an improvement in beauty actives, continued double-digit sales growth in F&F, and further recovery in crop protection.
