BlackRock's GIP to buy stake in Eni's carbon capture unit

BlackRock's (NYSE:BLK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BLK]) Global Infrastructure Partners fund has agreed to take a 49.99% stake in Italian energy company Eni's (NYSE:E [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/E]) carbon capture, utilization and storage unit, according to a Monday release.

The financial terms and timing of the proposed deal were not disclosed.

Eni CCUS Holding represents the HyNet and Bacton projects in Britain, as well as L10 in the Netherlands. It also holds an option to take over the Ravenna carbon business in Italy.
