Bank OZK stock dips after Q3 earnings miss despite record NII

Bank OZK (NASDAQ:OZK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/OZK]) shares slid 2% in Thursday after-hours trading after the lender turned third-quarter earnings that fell short of Wall Street expectations, despite logging a second straight month of record net interest income.

Q3 GAAP EPS [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20269681-bank-ozk-announces-record-third-quarter-2025-earnings] of $1.59, trailing the $1.69 average analyst estimate, inched up from $1.58 in the prior quarter and $1.55 in Q3 2024.

“During the third quarter we achieved record net income, record EPS, record net interest income, meaningful growth in capital ratios and solid asset quality," Chairman and CEO George Gleason said in a statement. "Our strong results for the first nine months of the year put us in a great position to achieve record results for the full year.”

Net interest income rose to $413.9M from $396.7M in Q2 and $389.4B in the year-ago period.

Provision for credit losses was $48.3M, up from $35.2M in Q2 and $46.4M in Q3 2024.

Pretax pre-provision net revenue of $290.6M compared with $274.9M in the earlier quarter and $282.6M a year before.

Noninterest income advanced to $36.1M in Q3 from $31.3M in the prior quarter and $33.6M in last year's Q3.

Period-end deposits of $34.0B at Sept. 30, 2025 vs. $33.5B at Dec. 31, 2024. Period-end loans of $32.9B vs. $30.0B in at Dec. 31, 2024.
