SM Energy Co. Q3 Profit Decreases, But Beats Estimates

(RTTNews) - SM Energy Co. (SM) revealed earnings for third quarter that Decreased from the same period last year but beat the Street estimates.

The company's bottom line came in at $155.08 million, or $1.35 per share. This compares with $240.52 million, or $2.09 per share, last year.

Excluding items, SM Energy Co. reported adjusted earnings of $153.69 million or $1.33 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.25 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the period rose 26.1% to $811.59 million from $643.61 million last year.
