Ventas said to acquire senior housing portfolio on Long Island for $600M

Ventas (NYSE:VTR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VTR]) is acquiring a portfolio of six Long Island-based senior communities from Harrison Street Asset Management and B2K Development for over $600M, according to a media report published Friday.

“We continue to capitalize on the compelling secular megatrend of a large and growing aging population with this attractive acquisition and new relationship with a well-regarded senior housing operator,” Ventas Chief Investment Officer Justin Hutchens told Bloomberg in an emailed statement.

At the end of June, Ventas' (NYSE:VTR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VTR]) senior housing portfolio encompassed more than 850 facilities.

B2K will remain responsible for overseeing the six properties, with the potential to collect performance-based fees, the article said [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-08-22/ventas-to-buy-long-island-senior-communities-for-600-million?srnd=homepage-americas].

VTR shares slipped 0.5% in midday trading.

Ventas (VTR [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VTR]) did not immediately respond to Seeking Alpha's request for comment on the timing of the deal.
