Canada Goose says not working on any take private transaction

Canada Goose (NYSE:GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]) said it's not working on any take-private deal or other transaction at this point in time.

"We have obviously, as a matter of policy, don't comment on rumors, but there's nothing we as a company are working on regarding any kind of take private or transaction at this point in time," Canada Goose (NYSE:GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]) President Beth Clymer said at a Goldman Sachs conference on Wednesday.

Clymer's comments come after CNBC reported a week ago that controlling shareholder Bain Capital is looking to offload its stake in Canada Goose. Companies that have shown interest include private equity firms Boyu Capital and Advent International, sources told _CNBC. _Their offers would value Canada Goose (NYSE:GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS#hasComeFromMpArticle=false#source=section%3Amain_content%7Cbutton%3Abody_link%7Cfirst_level_url%3Anews]) at 8x its 12-month average EBITDA, translating into a valuation of around $1.35 billion.

Shares of Canada Goose (GOOS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOS]) fell 1.2% in after-hours trading.
