Aug 14 - Alphabet's Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is making a massive bet on America's AI future, announcing a $9 billion investment in Oklahoma over the next two years. The plan is to build a brand-new data center campus in Stillwater and expand the existing one in Pryor, turning the state into a key hub for AI and cloud growth.
CEO Sundar Pichai said the move reflects Google's commitment to both innovation and the communities powering it. The spending is part of Alphabet's 2025 capital expenditure plan, which just climbed from $75 billion to $85 billion. Some of that $9 billion will come from current funding, with the rest earmarked for future expansion.

It's not just about servers and storage, Google is also putting $1 billion into AI education and workforce development, partnering with over 100 U.S. universities and the Electrical Training ALLIANCE to prepare talent for the AI economy.
With rivals like Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) in an arms race for AI dominance, Google's Oklahoma investment is as much about securing leadership as it is about building infrastructure. Construction is already underway, with completion expected between 2027 and 2028.
