The Swiss procure.ch and UBS PMI rose slightly to 49.0 in August. Retail sales in Switzerland rose by 0.7% Y/Y in July.

The S&P Global Poland Manufacturing PMI came in at 46.6 in August.

Hungary’s annual producer inflation slowed to 4.5% in July.

Sweden’s Swedbank Manufacturing PMI rose to 55.3 in August.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] (STOXX) [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/STOXX] turned 0.43% HIGHER to 552.5, as trading is expected to remain subdued today with U.S. indexes closed for Labor Day and few economic data releases scheduled for the day.

The euro climbed above $1.17 at the start of September, extending August’s 0.8% gain and hovering near its strongest level since late July.

COMING UP IN THE SESSION: Germany's preliminary inflation numbers are expected shortly.

IN THE BOND MARKET, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 3 basis points to 4.23%.

Germany's 10-year yield was up 3 basis points to 2.75%.

UK's 10-year yield was up 3 basis points to 4.75%.
