Disney channels go dark on YouTube TV over disputes

Disney (DIS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DIS]) networks—including ESPN, ABC, and more than 20 other channels—have gone dark on Google's (GOOG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOG]) YouTube TV after the two companies failed to reach a new carriage agreement by the contract deadline on October 30, 2025.

"Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products," a Google statement [https://support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/16654675?hl=en&utm_source=chatgpt.com] read.

The negotiations between Google (YouTube TV) and Disney (DIS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DIS]) broke down over contract renewal terms, primarily surrounding carriage fees and pricing.

The subscribers also lost access to their recorded Disney content and major live sports, including NFL, NBA, and college football broadcasts scheduled for the weekend.

About 10 million YouTube TV subscribers are affected by the blackout, and the company earlier said that it will offer a $20 bill credit [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4508051-disney-warns-youtube-tv-could-lose-espn-national-geographic-fx-and-other-channels-by-month-end] if Disney channels remain unavailable for an extended period.
