Afore Insurance Services acquires Salzberg Insurance Agency

Afore Insurance Services has finalised the acquisition of Salzberg Insurance Agency, a company with an 87-year history serving commercial and personal insurance clients in Norfolk, Virginia, US.

Salzberg Insurance will now be integrated into Afore’s Mid-Atlantic operations through BCA Insurance, the regional platform partner.

The existing leadership and staff at Salzberg are set to remain in place and continue their work with local customers, while making use of Afore's resources, including carrier partnerships and technology systems.

Salzberg Insurance Agency principal Ralph Soussan said: "Our team and I will remain in Norfolk and are committed to preserving our local heritage and enhancing our client relationships, as we gain access to Afore's national resources to serve our clients – and to expand.

“We chose Afore as our growth partner because they share our values and vision for the future, offering alternatives we didn't find with other firms. Together, we are positioned to add new people and new offices throughout Virginia while continuing our commitment to this community."

Afore CEO and president Michael A Garguilo commented: "We are delighted to welcome Ralph Soussan and the entire Salzberg team, which comes to us with an extraordinary legacy in Norfolk and the Hampton Roads region, one that we intend to honour and continue."

According to Afore Mid-Atlantic Region regional president and BCA head Brett Balsley, this transaction represents the first of multiple acquisitions planned by Afore in Virginia and elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic.

Additional agency acquisitions are expected soon as part of efforts to further develop Afore’s reach in the region.

Earlier this year, in July, Afore acquired TailoredRisk Insurance Advisors, a Florida-based personal lines agency.
