Airbus reportedly picked for $1.2B German defense contract

The German parliament is set to approve billions of dollars’ worth of defense deals, including a €1B ($1.2B) contract for 20 light combat helicopters from Airbus (OTCPK:EADSF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EADSF]) (OTCPK:EADSY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EADSY]) next week, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing a government document.

The deals, worth more than €3B ($3.5B), are expected to be approved by lawmakers in a closed-door meeting on Wednesday as part of a significant step-up in the European country's defense readiness amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

A €1B contract for 100,000 night vision devices from Hensoldt AG (OTCPK:HAGHY [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HAGHY]) (OTCPK:HNSDF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HNSDF]) and Theon International (OTC:TNIPF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TNIPF]) is among other deals set for approval, according to the document.

The German defense ministry is also seeking to boost its [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-11-08/germany-set-to-buy-20-military-combat-helicopters-from-airbus?srnd=homepage-asia] weapons stockpile, seeking approval to buy additional IRIS-T SLM air-defense guided missiles in a contract worth €1.2B with German tech firm Diehl.
