Hillenbrand jumps on report it's exploring possible sale

Plastics maker Hillenbrand (NYSE:HI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HI]) quickly advanced 12% on a report that the company is evaluating its strategic options, including a possible sale.

The company is working with advisers to evaluate interest from possible bidders, according to a Bloomberg repor [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-08-13/plastics-maker-hillenbrand-weighs-potential-sale]t on Wednesday, which cited people familiar with the matter.

Deliberations are ongoing, and there's no guarantee any sale will happen, according to the report.

Shares of Hillenbrand (NYSE:HI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HI]) have fallen 24% this year through Tuesday. The company has a market value of $1.7 billion.

On Monday, Hillembrand (NYSE:HI [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HI]) reported fiscal third-quarter results [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4483511-hillenbrand-shares-rise-on-earnings-revenue-beat-amid-tariff-volume-pressures] that topped Wall Street expectations for both earnings and revenue.
