Top iPhone assembler Foxconn posts record revenue for Q3, but falls short of expectations

Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics maker, on Sunday reported record revenue for the month of September and for Q3, though the latter figure missed market expectations.

The Taiwan-based giant, known formally as Hon Hai Precision Industry (OTCPK:HNHAF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HNHAF])(OTCPK:HNHPF [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HNHPF]), said September revenue surged 38% M/M and 14.2% Y/Y to NT$837.07B ($27.54B).

Meanwhile, Q3 revenue increased 14.5% Q/Q and 11% Y/Y to NT$2.06T ($67.78B). Analysts had been expecting Q3 revenue of NT$2.09T, according to estimates from S&P Capital IQ.

Foxconn is the world's largest assembler of Apple's (AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) iPhones and operates the biggest iPhone manufacturing facility on the globe in Zhengzhou, China. The company is also Nvidia's (NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) biggest artificial intelligence (AI) server maker.

Turning to the performance of Foxconn's segments, revenue from its smart consumer electronics products business - which includes iPhones - declined slightly Y/Y due to the impact of exchange rates. On the other hand, revenue from its cloud and networking products segment - which makes AI servers - put in a strong Y/Y performance.

Looking at Foxconn's outlook, the company sees growth in Q4.

"Operations are expected to maintain sequential quarterly growth as AI server shipments continue to ramp up in the fourth quarter and ICT products are entering the traditional peak season 2H25," Foxconn said in a statement.

"However, the impact of the global political and economic situation and exchange rate fluctuations will need continued close monitoring," it added.
