IBM set to snap six straight sessions of gains

IBM (NYSE:IBM [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/IBM]) was on track to record a fall after six consecutive sessions of gains, as the company’s shares were down 1.92% at $288.22 on Wednesday.

In the preceding six sessions, the company gained over 4%, compared to a 0.39% rise in the broader markets. Overall, shares of the company have gone up by over 33% compared to a gain of 14.16% in the broader S&P 500 Index.

Earlier in the day, S&P Global and IBM announced [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4502574-ibm-sp-global-team-up-to-deploy-agentic-ai-to-improve-supply-chain-management] they are partnering to embed IBM's watsonx Orchestrate agentic framework into S&P Global's suite of offerings, starting with supply chain management. This collaboration aims to equip businesses with AI-powered tools to help tackle some of the biggest challenges in today's global supply chain.

Looking at Seeking Alpha’s Quant rating [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/IBM/ratings/quant-ratings], IBM has a Hold rating with a score of 3.42 out of 5. The company was rated A+ for profitability, while it got an F for growth and a B- for momentum.

Turning to Wall Street, eight analysts rated the stock Buy and above, 10 rated it a Hold, while three consider it a Sell and lower.

Seeking Alpha analyst Daniel Jones [https://seekingalpha.com/article/4819962-ibm-a-great-business-at-just-a-fair-price-downgrade] downgraded IBM stock from Buy to Hold until a more attractive entry point.

However, Seeking Alpha analysts [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/IBM/ratings/author-ratings] appeared rather bullish about the stock, issuing a Buy call for IBM.

IBM shares ended higher on Wednesday after the company and Anthropic (ANTHRO [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ANTHRO]) said both are collaborating to integrate the startup's AI model Claude into select internal and external development tools and enterprise products, aiming to provide productivity gains for IBM clients.
