Biotech company Metagenomi (NASDAQ:MGX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MGX]) is utilizing artificial intelligence chips from Amazon Web Services (AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) to enhance its gene-editing technology development, a Reuters report said. 

Metagenomi noted that AWS's Inferentia chips are more cost-effective compared to competitors such as Nvidia, the report added.

Metagenomi focuses on creating tools to deliver genetic material into the human body for gene editing to treat diseases. 

The stock is down 8.6% today.
