Alaska Airlines extends flight cancellations through Friday

* U.S. carrier Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ALK]) is still experiencing an IT outage affecting operations that has resulted in cancellations of some of its flights Thursday evening, it said in a post [https://x.com/AlaskaAir/status/1981576269461659865]on X.
* The IT outage is not a cybersecurity event and is not related to any other events, as per reports.
* The issue began around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, with a failure at the airline’s primary data center.
* The airline also briefly grounded all of its flights in July for about three hours due to an IT outage.
