Alaska Air increasing West Coast presence, adding originating airports, new routes to Hawaii

Alaska Air Group (NYSE:ALK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ALK]) announced [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20280746-alaska-airlines-strengthens-commitment-to-san-diego-portland-and-hawaii-with-13-new-routes] 13 new nonstop routes and the addition of two airports, enhancing its California network and reinforcing its position as the state’s most connected carrier.

Beginning Spring 2026, Alaska Air (NYSE:ALK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ALK]) and Hawaiian Airlines will serve the top 15 most popular markets nonstop from San Diego and fly to 49 nonstop destinations.

The carrier will also begin service from Portland to four new destinations including Baltimore, Idaho Falls, Philadelphia, and St. Louis, along with a second flight to Newark, NJ and year-round daily flights from Portland to Lihu’e, Kaua’i, Hawaii.

Through its merger with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska (NYSE:ALK [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ALK]) has added a new summer flight between Honolulu and Hollywood-Burbank Airport, the first connection between these two airports in 20 years. The carrier also increased flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Hawaii, and will fly to all four Hawaiian Islands from San Francisco.
