Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.B) wants people to know that not everything you see or hear online is real. The company has issued a warning about fake AI-generated videos of Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) making the rounds on YouTube, according to Reuters.

In a statement titled It's Not Me, Berkshire said the deepfake clips show Buffett giving investment tips and opinions he never actually made. The visuals look surprisingly convincing, but the giveaway is in the voice it sounds flat and robotic, nothing like Buffett's signature calm and folksy tone. One fake video, for example, claims to share Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio)'s #1 Investment Tip for Everyone Over 50, complete with a made-up speech.
Berkshire said it's worried that people unfamiliar with Buffett could easily fall for these videos. The billionaire, who's preparing to step down from his role at the company, has dealt with fake endorsements before but this new wave of AI deepfakes is spreading faster and getting harder to spot.
Wall Street analysts still see upside in Berkshire's stock, giving BRK.B a Moderate Buy rating and a $537 price target about 8% higher from here.
