Apple boosts India push with third store to open next month

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) is opening its third store in India, in the tech hub Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka.

The store, located [https://www.apple.com/in/retail/storelist/] in the Phoenix Mall of Asia, will open on Sept. 2.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.

The iPhone maker currently has two stores in India — one in Mumbai and another in Delhi. Apple's CEO Tim Cook attended the openings of each store in 2023.

Apple’s iPhones account for 5% of India’s over 700 million smartphone users, according to Counterpoint Research. However, the world’s most populous country offers a huge scope for growth, as per Cook, Bloomberg News reported [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-08-21/apple-expands-india-push-with-new-store-in-bangalore-next-month?srnd=phx-technology].

The U.S. tech giant, reportedly, is also ramping [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4486803-apple-expands-india-production-for-us-bound-iphone-17-models-bloomberg-reports] up iPhone production in India at five factories, including a pair of recently opened plants, as it seeks to reduce its reliance on China for U.S.-bound models. The company is producing all four iPhone 17 models in India ahead of their debut next month.
