Honeywell (NASDAQ:HON [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HON]) said Friday it appointed [https://seekingalpha.com/pr/20209097-honeywell-appoints-peter-lau-to-lead-industrial-automation] former FARO Technologies head Peter Lau as the new President and CEO of its Industrial Automation business, effective October 15.
Lau, a former President of Honeywell's (NASDAQ:HON [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/HON]) Security, Fire and Electrical Products businesses, is returning to the company to succeed Lucian Boldea, who is leaving at the end of the month to pursue another opportunity.
Lau most recently served as President and CEO of 3D measuring systems company FARO Technologies, which was acquired in May [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4441775-ametek-to-acquire-faro-technologies-in-920m-deal] by industrial tools maker Ametek, and previously served in leadership positions at Hubbell, GE and Catalyst Nutraceuticals.
Honeywell recently said it would evaluate strategic alternatives for parts of its Industrial Automation business ahead of the company's planned separation into three independent companies, which is expected to be complete in H2 2026.
