Semiconductor stocks grabbed investor attention Monday after Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMD]) soared on news of a newly inked partnership with OpenAI. Under the long-term agreement, the ChatGPT developer will acquire several generations of AMD’s advanced artificial intelligence processors over the coming years.

As a result AMD popped more than 25% placing attention on the broader chip sector.
