Amazon adds Claude Haiku 4.5 to its generative AI service

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) announced the availability of Claude Haiku 4.5 in Amazon Bedrock, which joins the existing Claude 4 models available to customers, including the recently launched Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Claude Opus 4.1. Claude Haiku 4.5 is known to be Anthropic's (ANTHRO [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/ANTHRO]) most efficient model, delivering near-frontier performance quickly and cost-effectively.

The e-commerce giant said the hybrid reasoning models (meaning they can toggle between near-instant responses and extended thinking) have set new standards across coding, advanced reasoning, and multi-step workflows. Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Claude Opus 4.1 were highlighted as enabling sustained performance on complex, long-running tasks and can power AI agents capable of doing hours of work in minutes. Meanwhile, Claude Haiku 4.5 was said to offer the best combination of performance, price, and speed for scaled sub-agent deployments that warrant optimal intelligence and response time.

Crucially, the speed of Claude Haiku 4.5 was highlighted as making AI agents using computers faster and more responsive and is seen as advantageous for use cases where response time is critical, like customer service agents and chatbots.
