Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump announced he will meet with Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang on Wednesday, praising the tech leader as "brilliant" during an address to business leaders in Tokyo.

The meeting comes as Trump travels through Asia, with plans to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday. "I think meeting with Xi will work out," Trump said during his remarks.

Trump specifically congratulated Huang on Nvidia’s recent achievements, noting that "11 days ago, Nvidia and TSMC announced that they have produced the very fast, first rate, state of the art Blackwell" chip that is "entirely made in the USA."

The U.S. president highlighted that Nvidia and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE:TSM) are "spending hundreds of billions of dollars now in the United States," along with other chip manufacturers.

The meeting with Huang aligns with the Nvidia CEO’s previously announced plans to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation CEO Summit in South Korea, where he intended to meet with "global leaders and top Korean executives."

During his Tokyo address, Trump also discussed his administration’s focus on "speeding construction of AI infrastructure and bringing production of critical chips and semiconductors back onshore."

Trump’s Asian trip includes stops in Japan and South Korea. He praised Japan’s new Prime Minister, saying "she’s going to do a great job" and has the full support of his administration.

The president also reiterated his criticism of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, stating that Powell will be out in "a few months," and mentioned that he wants to "get beef prices down," suggesting that "maybe ranchers are doing too well."
