Lucid rallies after expanding its autonomous driving partnership with Nvidia

Lucid Group (LCID [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LCID]) updated investors about its existing partnership with Nvidia (NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) to advance autonomous vehicle technology and manufacturing capabilities.

The electric vehicle maker plans to use Nvidia’s DRIVE AGX Thor computing systems to bring Level 4 autonomous driving to its upcoming midsize electric vehicles, with a target for a launch in 2026. This timing would make Lucid (LCID [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LCID]) among the first automakers to offer true Level 4 autonomy in consumer-owned cars, not just fleet-operated robotaxis. The company said its partnership with Nvidia (NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) marks a pivotal step in the evolution of intelligent manufacturing and electric mobility.

"Together with Lucid, we're accelerating the future of autonomous, AI-powered transportation, built on NVIDIA's full-stack automotive platform," highlighted Nvidia (NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) CEO Jensen Huang on the partnership.

For over four years, Lucid (LICD) has utilized Nvidia's (NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) DRIVE platform as the compute backbone for its DreamDrive Pro advanced driver assistance system, which powers autonomous features in Lucid Air and other models

Shares of Lucid Group (LCID [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/LCID]) were up 6.0% in premarket trading to $19.20 vs. the 52-week range of $15.25 to $36.40. Short interest stands at 12.8% of the total float.
