YouTube still in talks to resolve carriage dispute with Disney amid busy sports season

* Alphabet-owned YouTube (GOOG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOG]) (GOOGL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/GOOGL]) is still in negotiations with Disney (DIS [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/DIS]) for carrying the media and entertainment giant's content on its platform after both parties failed to strike an agreement.
* The negotiations between YouTube TV and Disney broke down over contract renewal terms, primarily surrounding fees and pricing.
* Disney raised prices for the full suite of ESPN channels, local ABC stations, and its programming, as it believes the platform hasn’t been paying a fair price for the "best talent, creators, and content in the world."
* "We've been working to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays them fairly for their content and returns their programming to YouTube TV," according to an update posted by YouTube TV on X late on Sunday. "We know it’s been disappointing to lose Disney channels, and in light of the disruption, we’re offering our subscribers a $20 credit."
* The dispute comes amid a busy sports season for NFL, NBA, and college football broadcasts, and the blackout has impacted about 10 million YouTube TV subscribers.
