Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.75%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Food & Beverages and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.61%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 2.76% or 44.00 points to trade at 1,641.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) added 2.31% or 4.14 points to end at 183.72 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) was up 2.14% or 7.90 points to 376.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which fell 2.51% or 0.89 points to trade at 34.58 at the close. Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) declined 1.45% or 0.80 points to end at 54.22 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was down 0.85% or 2.20 points to 255.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which rose 6.10% to 9.08, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 3.66% to settle at 15.87 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which gained 3.26% to close at 74.40.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 15.94% to 7.32 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 8.74% to settle at 8.88 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.32% to 21.58 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 2.88% to 125.10, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 1.95% to settle at 43.94 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which gained 1.62% to close at 40.12.

The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 3.99% to 18.75 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 3.67% to settle at 51.15 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.32% to 21.58 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 345 to 268 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.10% or 0.52 to 9.08. Shares in Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) fell to all time lows; falling 3.67% or 1.95 to 51.15.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.92% to 16.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.63% or 21.50 to $3,386.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.87% or 1.17 to hit $63.82 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 1.12 to trade at $66.75 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 98.08.
