Blackstone to acquire $2B portfolio of warehouses in France - report

Blackstone (NYSE:BX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BX]) agreed to acquire a €2B ($2.3B) portfolio of warehouses in France, boosting its investments in European real estate, according to a media report.

The acquisition from Proudreed, one of France's largest logistics real estate companies, consists of ~2.3M square meters of mostly urban warehouses, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Logistics have become the biggest part of Blackstone's (NYSE:BX [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BX]) European property holdings, accounting for more than half its portfolio in Europe, Bloomberg said. The alternative asset manager started funneling capital into European warehouses more than a decade ago as rapid growth in online commerce boosted demand for distribution properties.
