Wolfe Research upgraded Everest Group (EG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EG]) to Peer Perform from Underperform as clarity improves on the company's U.S. casualty reserves picture.

The reserve strengthening actions taken in Q4 have played out, and the stock is now trading at a fair valuation, analyst Tracy Benguigui said. "Shares appear fairly valued, with tail risk related to U.S. Casualty reserves being relatively contained."

In addition, management has guided to 2026 return on equity to below 15%, "which feels more reasonable" than the consensus estimate of more than 15%, she said.

Also in Everest's (EG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EG]) favor, "the renewal rights deal with AIG for $2B [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4509053-aig-to-acquire-2b-in-everest-group-retail-insurance-premiums] of retail business may speed up the timetable for EG to turnaround its Insurance business," Benguigui wrote in a note to clients.

Wolfe's Peer Perform rating on Everest (EG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EG]) aligns with the SA Quant rating [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EG/ratings/quant-ratings] and the average Wall Street rating [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EG/ratings/sell-side-ratings], both at Hold.

Evergreen Group (EG [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/EG]) stock rose 0.8% in early Wednesday trading.
