Calculation method

First, numeric ranges and set conditions on the same field are checked for logical intersection, for example a lower bound above an upper bound. Then, on the same complete latest data snapshot, the set of qualifying stocks is calculated for each criterion and each criteria combination. Criteria are removed one at a time from empty-intersection groups to find conflict groups that become non-empty when any single criterion is removed. Logically impossible, no intersection in the current sample, and undeterminable due to missing data are labeled separately. Suggested changes show both the original criteria and the recalculated sample size.

Limitations

User rules and a complete, verifiable stock universe are required. A criteria group having no intersection in the current sample does not mean it is logically impossible forever. Missing values and Screener pagination truncation must not be treated as zero hits. Combination search must have an explicit limit, and an irreducible criteria group that is found is not guaranteed to be the unique answer with the fewest criteria globally. Any change must preserve the original rule version and require user confirmation.
